Rants and Raves about Social Media
Rants and Raves about Social Media in Omaha, Nebraska
by OmahajoeRants - things that piss me off
I recently began a discussion with Bel Air Fashion via their Twitter account @belairfashions. I wanted to talk to them about considering adding a professional profile video to their website. I was told over twitter that they were already working with another Social Media company, Affordable Social Media, and they were very happy with how fast their followers have grown. After a few more tweets, it became clear to me that i was actually talking to Affordable Social Media service provider @MikeBitter, instead of actually talking to @BelAirFashions. A search of @belairfashions will show you the details on twitter - click here.
Rant #1 - Web Video is NOT Social Media
Rant #2 - Never pretend you are someone else on Twitter
Rant #3 - Followers on Twitter is not a sign of success, authentic engagement is
Raves - things that make me happy
I've been using Vertical Response for email marketing to my clients and their client lists. A few weeks ago I was excited to see that Vertical Response added over 100 new email templates to its library after feedback from its users (i was thinking they were getting kind of stale). Also I've had 2 service issues while using Vertical Response in the last month and each time I was able to talk to a live person immediately and my problem was fixed as quickly. In a world dominated by Facebook, Twitter, and Google where customer services is limited to FAQs and emails, it refreshing to have software providers like Vertical Response with live customer support. Also, when I was tweeting about mispelling verticle (vertical) response, I actually had a response from Vertical Response on Twitter saying it is often mispelled.

Rave #3 - Live Customer Support makes a huge difference and impression on your customer, and on Twitter!
