Evernote and Ubertor

Evernote and Ubertor - two tools I am using for this blog.

First Evernote.  I've been using Evernote for quite some time.  It's a freemium service I found online over a year ago (both a free and premium version).  I use it as an online memory bank for thoughts, pictures, websites, recordings, etc.  Almost anything can be archived on Evernote with great ease.  I use their iphone application to take pictures of things I want to remember, to record to do lists or thoughts I have on a subject, or to access other notes I've added in the past.  Evernote has a wicked OCR system that allows me to access any note in the future by the words in the note itself, even if its a picture!  You can even use another freemium service called Jott to transcribe your voice notes that can be searched later by the individual words.  Way cool technology!

Now Ubertor.  I use Ubertor as the platform for developing this site and writing this blog.  It's free to try out for the first month, and nearly free thereafter depending on the service option chosen.  Recently Ubertor was awarded with an Inman News technology award.  I saw the press release online yesterday, clipped it to my Evernote account for future reference, and pulled it up today so I could link you to it on this blog now - Ubertor wins a 2009 Innovator Award.

Feel free to try out evernote, jott, or ubertor for free and let me know how it works out for you.
